Lou Lamoriello reportedly heading to the Islanders

Per the Bergen Record this morning. He's going to take over all hockey operations, supposedly, I assume that means President and GM.

Hmmm, I wonder if he'll get 10 years.................

I would have liked him here instead of holmgren.

That can't happen. He never played for the Flyers.

Lamoriello's an old guy getting by on reputation now. The Devils forced him out and are better off now with Shero. The Leafs forced him out, too. Hasn't won anything in 15 years (only got past the 2nd round of the playoffs once in those last 15 years). Missed the playoffs as GM in 5 of his last 6 seasons, and got knocked out in 5 games in the first round this season when he made it.

Well, he was in Toronto for 3 years, and made the playoffs twice after taking over a trainwreck left over from Dave Nonis (and Brian Burke)

Probably had a little something to do with getting Auston Matthews first overall, and inheriting William Nylander, Mitch Marner, Morgan Rielly, and Nazem Kadri. It's not like he took over anything close to a bare cupboard.

Missed the playoffs in 4 of his last 6 seasons as GM. Out of the first round in 6 games and 5 games the last two seasons. And past the 2nd round once in the last 15 years.

The mere fact that he was able to dump both Phaneuf and Clarkson, shows he's a great executive.

But we've got Saint "deer in the headlights" Ronnie, so all is good.
