Squeaking in does provides this team nothing in the long term except for the gate proceeds from two playoff games.

disagree....it's a different season and it's good for the young core to get playoff experience. Also, you never know what can happen...look at Nashville last year and Ottawa...what were they the 15 and 16 seeds?

neither of those teams had sucky goaltending. There is no way Elliot or Neuvirth can duplicate the runs of Anderson and Rinne.

    Exactly correct.
To be honest, they would benefit more long term by missing the playoffs this season.

The 15th pick is going to totally turn things around for them?

That late round lottery pick turned into #2 last year.
No Nolan Patrick if in the playoffs.

Be honest folks, this is not a playoff team and that is okay. Unless they can make a small deal like the discussion of an AHL D-man and a pick for Domi or anything similar just do nothing and let contracts run their course!

I wouldn't say they aren't a playoff team. There is a ton of garbage in the NHL. They could make the playoffs.

almost every year a 7th or 8th seed team has a surprisingly good playoff run. If the goalie gets hot (Neuvy has in the past) the Flyers can beat almost anyone. At the very least, any bit of playoff experience is beneficial.
