Brent Seabrook - signed long term last year now healthy scratch

32 year old Brent Seabrook signed an 8 year $55 mill contract last year ($6.875 cap hit)...in year 2 he's a healthy scratch half way through the season. Should be a fun remaining 6 years. Just another example of why you don't sign Simmonds long term...

Also, shows why you always need to continue to draft and build a deep prospect pool so you can let these guys walk when the time comes. I hope Hextall does the right thing.

    #finished.

Not like here's having a terrible year.

Didn’t understand that extension at all. It looked like a disaster from the start. And it is.

What happened? He had a good year last year and his numbers don't look bad. I haven't watched any non Flyers games this year so I don't have any idea what might or might not have happened with his game or the Blackhawks.

One game he's a healthy scratch. Every D man on the team not named Duncan has been scratched. 3 Stanley Cups in the last 8 seasons. I'll throw that GM a bone on this one.

Jordan Oesterle is on the top pairing with Keith; another "bright" decision by the Oilers...
