    Giroux

Some sobering numbers on his season:

His salary is 11th highest Cap in the league.
His total points this season ranks him 48th.
    His ppg is ranked 70th.
His even strength points has him ranked 205th (behind Koneckny).
His +/- is 38th worst in the league.

There were plenty of fans that wanted him traded two years ago, while he still had value, and at a point which would have made sense with the rebuild. Each of the previous 2 drafts were stacked with talent and extra picks would have been very valuable. Moreover, the last two seasons were the season to tank - lottery chances for McDavid or Matthews were potential home runs, but high end picks in either draft represented great prospects.

Has the ship sailed on G - does he have any real trade value at that Cap hit? Is there enough in the cupboard to rebuild a legit contender or will the current pool of assets only lead to a competitive team with nothing more than long shot status at a Cup?

I think last years playoff entry and the failure to trade G will prove to have derailed a legit rebuild into a true perennial contender, and this franchise can look forward to a continued long Cup drought.

Fuck off. I'm a fan, derived from fanaticism. Not born in reason or logic but in passion and dedication. If you don't believe in the intangibles and immeasurables then you are one miserable fuck.

    He's 29. Career over.

Hopefully he's able to bounce back. I really believe he never recovered 100% from his hip operation over last summer.
