• Eagles Show Some Fight In Win Over Dolphins

By Tim McManus, Philly Sports Daily

MIAMI — The Eagles vowed this week that they would fight to the end. Then again, they’ve vowed a lot of things this season.

Will is tested in the trenches, and that’s exactly where they won this game, 26-10 against the Dolphins.

On a day where Vick was battling through his rib injury and LeSean McCoy was caught by a swarming Dolphins defense, Juan Castillo’s unit carried the load in a win over Miami. The Eagles’ slim playoff hopes remain alive for another week.

Jason Babin established a new career high with his 13th, 14th and 15th sacks of the season, including one that forced a turnover. Asante Samuel had the strip and recovery. Kurt Coleman came up with an interception. Brian Rolle came up with his first career sack, as did Casey Matthews.

Individual accomplishments aside, it was the collective effort in short-yardage situations that helped define the game. They stopped the Dolphins at midfield with stops on 3rd-and-1 and 4th-and-1 late in the first half. Came up with a stop on 3rd-and-1 midway through the third. And, with the help of a J.P. Losman fumble, turned Miami away on a 4th-and-1 in the fourth with the outcome still in question.
