• Another Nail In The Eagles’ Coffin

SEATTLE — Jeffrey Lurie can put away the binoculars — it’s not hard to see what is going on here.

In a season of disappointments and lowlights, the Eagles bottomed out in a shockingly lackluster 31-14 loss to the Seahawks.

With a quarter of the season still to play, it is within reason to ask if some of these players have given up.

LeSean McCoy has not — he rushed for 84 yards and found the end zone twice despite a bad toe — but he was one of the few that appeared genuinely motivated.

“I thought the guys played hard,” said Andy Reid. “We have to make sure that they’re in a position to make plays.”

The play that will define the game, and maybe the season, was Marshawn Lynch’s 15-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. What looked like a dead play turned disastrous, as Lynch broke loose while a gang of Eagles players observed the proceedings from close range. Jamar Chaney will be credited with the missed tackle, but the real sins came from those who did not fly to his aid.
