Patriots Demolish Hope For Eagles Season
By Tim McManus, Philly Sports Daily
LINCOLN FINANCIAL FIELD — The chants broke out midway through the third quarter, shortly after Vince Young’s pass feebly hit the turf on 4th-and-1.
“Fire Andy! … Fire Andy!”
They grew louder as the Eagles marched towards the abyss and a 38-20 thrashing at the hands of Tom Brady and the Patriots.
It will be a game, and a moment, that may be remembered as the beginning of the end.
The game started out well enough for the Eagles, who jumped out to a 10-0 lead thanks to some on-point deep throws from backup quarterback Vince Young — subbing for the injured Michael Vick for the second straight week.
Things quickly devolved, however, as Philadelphia miscues mixed with Brady’s precision snowballed into something ugly and uncontrollable.
