• Phillies trade Pence to Giants for 3 players

And the second shoe has officially dropped.

Shortly after sending Shane Victorino to Los Angeles, the Phils traded Hunter Pence to San Francisco. In return they received catching prospect Tommy Joseph, outfielder Nate Schierholtz and pitcher Seth Rosin.

Selected by the Giants in the second round (55th overall) of the 2009 draft, Joseph in 80 games for Double-A Richmond is hitting .260 with eight homers and 38 RBIs.

Schierholtz, 28, hit .257 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in 77 games with the Giants this season. In five-plus seasons in San Francisco, Schierholtz hit .270 with 23 homers and 119 RBIs in 503 games.

The 23-year-old Rosin went 2-1 with a 4.31 ERA for the Class A San Jose Giants this season.
